Senior Expert, Art Direction, Global Brand Creative, Energy Sport

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Energy Sport Creative team, part of Nike Brand Creative, delivers world-class creative execution against brand design storytelling, with innovative thinking and an obsession around the craft.
The Senior Expert will also partner directly with one of Nike’s most culturally influential collaborators to co-create the visuals, films and experiences on behalf of the Nike and the entertainer’s own brand.
This leader will drive the boundary-pushing new visual direction for the collaboration, inclusive of world building, campaign ideation and execution, branding, experience design and beyond. Your work will push the aesthetic and cultural boundaries of sport to new heights, through a strong creative partnership with the external collaborator and their team, in coordination with Nike’s Global creative direction and processes.
You will work directly with the Sr. Creative Director, Producers, and other Art Directors on the Nike Global Energy Brand Creative team. Your role will also involve internal collaboration with Brand Marketing Directors, Brand Creative Leadership, Narrative Leads, Retail Design, Digital Design, Production and Operations teams, as well as external agencies.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Senior Expert leads a multidisciplinary design team responsible for the look and feel of the collaboration sub brand inclusive of campaigns, design, art direction and motion, including strategic intent, ideation and execution. You will work in partnership with the Senior Creative Director to ensure all elements are created in strategic alignment with the goals of the collaboration, and the overarching Nike creative direction and principles.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education and experience, and training.
- Creative leadership – works with Sr. Creative Directors to inspire and guide multidisciplinary design teams through ambiguity and complexity.
- Mastery of art direction & design knowledge – deliver outstanding photography, graphic design, video content, experiences and digital design in service of sport category, on time and within budget.
- Significant experience working in entertainment, and / or with tier 1 celebrities or cultural figures.
- Strategic communication – effectively applies visual skills to communicate complex ideas, aligning stakeholders with clarity and influence.
- Collaboration & influence – builds trust across cross-functional teams and external partners (photographers, filmmakers, illustrators, designers).
- Entrepreneurial Drive – proactively identifies opportunities and drives innovation.
- Talent magnetism – helps attract, mentor, and retain top creative talent.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
- Strategic Co-creation – your role will place you at the intersection of two brands. You will find the right opportunities for Nike and the entertainer to co-create in ways that suits both brands, and pushes both entities to areas they couldn’t go by themselves. You and the rest of the collaboration team will maintain the health of the relationship by ensuring that both sides are adequately involved and in support of the overarching vision as well as the individual projects.
- Elevating the craft & storytelling – you will be responsible for consistent level of deliverables across Art & Design, constantly elevating Nike’s Design and Art Direction output.
- Support studios with hands-on creative work – you will encourage and lead innovative thinking, collaboration, and execution on the day to day of the projects. Represent creative in reviews with leadership.
- Provide inspiration for the discipline – you will push sport imaging, sport graphic design & sport motion into the future with regular trend reports. You will need to stay ahead of emerging trends, helping set what’s next.
- Cross-functional collaboration – you will be responsible for elevating the Art Direction across all brand touch points: Retail, Digital, Media, E-commerce, Brand Voice, Styling and geo executions.
- Industry & sport culture connectivity – you will demonstrate an active interest and connection with the creative industry through event attendance, talent scouting and trend leadership.
